Caroline Sayer - Artist
My pictures of the Richmond area are watercolour and ink drawings, based on my observations of life around me. The pictures are filled with characters busy about their lives – they’re meant to make the viewer smile - and there always has to be a dog in my picture! (The people are entirely invented, but the occasional Jack Russell is based on my dog Bingo).
I work in a variety of other media, including collage, acrylics and ceramics. I enjoy experimenting with different materials and techniques, love the unknown aspect of how a work is going to turn out using media like ink and collage, and enjoy exploring the effect of texture in both two and three-dimensional work.
I exhibit with the Richmond Art Society, Kingston Artists Open Studios, Richmond Open Studios, Landmark Contemporary Art Fairs, Twickenham Carnival and Richmond May Fair.
